Liberales is a new independent think tank within the liberal movement. Its members consider liberalism as a progressive movement supporting individual freedom, justice and human rights. Liberales reacts against narrow minded conservatism related to social economic, ecological and ethical issues supported by compartmentalized parties and structures.

Its members believe in the power, the individuality and the self-development of the human being, taking its responsibility in society as an emancipated individual. In order to give every individual the possibility to do so, we should strive for as many equal starting conditions as possible.

Freedom and responsibility are linked to each other. Individualisation means more freedom and independence for people’s life styles and behaviour, for the choice of their relationships and for the way they give a sense and content to those relationships. From this free position each individual has to take up responsibility for him- or herself (by taking opportunities) and for others as part of society.

Freedom and solidarity go together very well. They both can be in conflict, only when society, as a separate entity, is put alongside or most of the time above the individual. Solidarity requires human investment in society and responsibility towards humanity.

Freedom refers also to the respect of each other’s rights. A society will be called decent only when it gives its members the maximum of options. This freedom of self-determination and free choice is particularly important for philosophy and attitude to life, which people wish to develop themselves. Liberales supports mutual respect.

Liberales addresses all people believing in freedom, sincerity and creativity of the human being, stimulating more prosperity and welfare.
